Welcome to another edition of the No Punches Pulled interview series. In this one it is one of NYWC's promising future stars Sal Savelli.
RL: Were you a wrestling fan growing up?
SS: I was most definitely a wrestling fan growing up. I would watch WWE Smackdown and vividly remember The Undertaker & Edge being the big stars.
RL: When did you decide to be a wrestler?
SS: I decided I wanted to be a wrestler when I was starting high school.
RL: How did you discover the NYWC academy?
SS: I saw NYWC on YouTube and thought it was cool to have a school near my home.
RL: What were your initial impressions of Shane?
SS: Shane was welcoming with open arms and introduced me to the business describing it as a family.
RL: How tough was training?
SS: Training was tough at first but if you have heart and dedication, and the physical abilities, then it becomes easier and you become more comfortable as you go.
RL: What are your memories of your match with Michael Mistretta in Babylon?
SS: I strongly remember my match with Mistretta being a good learning aspect on how to feel a live crowd for the first time, also he beat me up in front of my family.
RL: What are your memories of Johnny "The Body Levante?
SS: I do remember Johnny having one of the most amazing transformations I've ever seen, and he really had a good attitude in the ring even after his injuries.
RL: What are your memories of teaming with Dickie Rodz?
SS: I loved teaming witb Dickie, he was my on the job coach and it was great to pick up a couple of wins with him. Teaming with a successful guy of his stature is a blessing.
RL: What are your memories of Bull James?
SS: I remember Bull being very kind to me from the beginning and always having me involved with the shows in some form.
RL: What are your memories of Jaden Valo & Corey Cooper?
SS: Valo & Cooper are my boys, training with them has been a pleasure and to now team with them and make names for ourselves together is a true gift.
RL: What are your memories of the 8 man tag team match at Psycho Circus 18?
SS: My first Circus was crazy, the 8 man tag match was brutal amd hard hitting but it taught me so much.
RL: What are your feelings on this uncertain time with COVID-19(Coronavirus)?
SS: This corona situation is really unfortunate and everyone is suffering pretty bad, I do complain that I want to return to normal life soon but other people have it way worse, there are more important things to take care of besides wrestling and other forms of entertainment.
RL: Is there anything you would like to say to the fans?
SS: I would like to say to the fans that I miss competing in front of you and can't wait until we all create more stories and memories pretty soon.
