THE FOLLOWING INTERACTIVE DVD/VHS REVIEW IS OPINIONATED AND SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN AS FACT.
I AM NOT CONSIDERED A PROFESSIONAL WRITER, NOR WOULD I EVER CONSIDER MYSELF ONE SO THE WRITING TECHNIQUE IS ONE AS IF I WERE TALKING TO EVERYONE ON THE AIR DURING THE WEEKLY SUNSET FLIP WRESTLING SHOW.
REGARDLESS OF WHAT IS WRITTEN ABOUT ANYONE, I RESPECT PRO WRESTLERS AS A WHOLE FOR PUTTING THEIR BODIES ON THE LINE FOR THEIR ENTERTAINMENT.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO REPLY. HATEFUL RESPONSES SUCH AS "fuck YOU TRISH STRATUS IS THE BEST" ARE NOT WELCOME AND WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Hi everyone,
It's time for another Interactive DVD/VHS Review, done exclusively on the Sunset Flip Wrestling Show myspace (www.myspace.com/sunsetflipshow) and the NYWC board. Twice a week I write about a DVD that I have from either WWE, TNA, ROH. I received a big lot of DVD's about a year ago so it's time to put them to good use.
This time we take a look at TNA Against All Odds 2005
NWA World Heavyweight Championship Match
Jeff Jarrett vs Kevin Nash featuring Kip James and Sean Waltman
Ironman X Division Title match
AJ Styles vs Christopher Daniels
NWA Tag Team Title Match
America's Most Wanted vs Kid Kash and Lance Hoyt
Full Metal Mayhem
Jeff Hardy vs Abyss
Monty Brown and Diamond Dallas Page vs Team Canada
Dustin Rhodes vs Raven
Elix Skipper vs Petey Williams
BG James and Jeff Hammond vs Matt Bentley and Kazarian
Let me start off by saying that this is one of those DVD's that I have never watched before. Right off the bat, I'm excited about Christopher Daniels vs AJ Styles and I'm not looking forward to Dustin Rhodes vs Raven.
Shane Douglas is a backstage interviewer and apparently right from the start there is chaos between Jeff Jarrett's lawyers and Dusty Rhodes' side. I'm just glad to know that I may see Dusty today because Dusty is one of my favorite legends.
Petey Williams vs Elix Skipper
I am sad that neither of these two are with TNA right now. Elix Skipper had one of the greatest moves of all time happen during one of his matches when he gave a hurricanarana from off the top of a cage. And Petey Williams had the most "over" finisher in TNA. But I guess TNA management would rather have untalented Scott Steiner take their place.
Pretty fun opener. It seemed quick though. It accomplished getting people into the show. But the real question is would it be able to carry over, because Jeff Hammond is wrestling next.
BG James and Jeff Hammond vs Matt Bentley and Kazarian
Let me say this. It was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. BG and the other team did a couple of cool flying spots (which I love). Hammond didn't really do that bad either. A rough start with an awkward push but other than that his small amount of time didn't seem bad. hell, I've seen current WWE diva matches do worse and they "claim to be trained for years".
Dusty Rhodes IS SO FAT AND GREAT! He's confronted by the lawyer and stands up for himself.
On the other hand I don't know why Dustin Rhodes continuously has a job with any major wrestling promotion. Nonetheless he's up next against Raven.
Dustin Rhodes vs Raven
As I thought this match was extremely boring. It was slow, no real big spots, and the fear that there may be another match in the future as after the match Raven beats up Dustin. Also, god bless to Don West for trying to sell me that what I'm watching is exciting.
Some kid runs out to try to help Dustin but gets beat up.
Raven leaves and the lights turn out. Trytan is apparently coming to Impact next week. he must not have been too good because I don't really remember him that much.
America's Most Wanted vs Kid Kash and Lance Hoyt
Pretty good tag team match. I like tag team wrestling in some cases so it was nice to see some and I also was a big fan of America's Most Wanted.
Jeff Hardy vs Abyss
GREAT MATCH! hardcore type match which Abyss excels in. Very awesome.
Diamond Dallas Page and Monty Brown vs Team Canda
Not as good as the earlier tag team match but I thought it was okay.
AJ Styles vs Christopher Daniels
Great match. It was an Ironman match and it definitely did not disapoint to me.
NWA Heavyweight title match
Kevin Nash vs Jeff Jarrett
It was okay. i don't think it was terrible. Kip James runs in to make his debut. Who knew he would wind up being a lackey of women's wrestlers? X-Pac also comes out so that is pretty exciting. in fact, and maybe someone can correct me, this may be the last time we see him publicly. Of course, not counting 1 Night in China (ewwwww gross).
Overall there is nothing totally wow about this DVD but there also isn't anything terrible either, although some people may think the Jeff Hammond thing is.
