I think if the higher ups at NYWC alerted Mr. Lotti about the matches, it would help promote NYWC a little better.

I agree. It would help NYWC promote a little better.

I think NYWC needs to advertise more in the paper or maybe get commericals.

To be quite honest i think the best thing for them to do would be to promote their shows on some of the more popular Long Island radio stations or at least the radio stations that are popular with a crowd in the age range of the people that they are trying to target. because to be quite honest i dont know of very many people or kids that read the news paper these days when our society has become so Online oriented. what good is it to post ads in a news paper THAT NOONE READS. with radio station air time they can target a much larger demographic because air time wont go to waste. im possitive that if they invested in a little air time or went on a early morning radio morning show to say "hey this is who we are and this is why you should come check us out" that their number in attendence would double wut it is now. word of mouth will only go so far.

If they got an ad on TV, radio, or in a newspaper, then it would cost money for the advertising time.

Why would you post the matches here first when only 100 or so people are signed up??? And how many people regularly view the boards? Post them to the main board. Sometimes they wait for 1 event to be over before they set up matches for the next card. But yes they could be a bit more proactive in listing the scheduled card.
Will this necessarily improve attendance? I think probably not. Independent wrestling is a tricky thing. There are probably 3 types of fans: hardcore fans who love good independent wrestling, friends & family of the wrestlers, and the casual curious fan who loves the WWE. The more you aim for the casual fan/WWE lover, the more big name talent you need thus resulting in less profit. Plus there is no gaurantee that those fans will carry over from show to show and you can possibly alienate your regular fan base by bringing in "TV Stars" who generally dont try as hard as the young wrestlers who are trying to make it.
I've been attending NYWC shows regularly for almost 6 years. I've definitely seen changes in their focus/booking strategy. I feel the past year, they have hit their niche. They do have a good group of young wrestlers who really perform well and put on a good show.
I could be wrong but the owners/managers of NYWC do it out of the love of the business. Not sure they are looking to be the next Ring of Honor. I think they are content with being the best and most professional local company.
However, lol, if I was trying to get them bigger it would be through a weekly or biweekly public access show and also an emphasis on dvd sales. They used to use video clips when posting the results of the shows. I think they need to do this again! Maybe be proactive and do a weekly or biweekly video wire on their website where they could update stories/angles with new developments or interviews.
I love that they went to basically bi weekly shows. I think that if they settled on just 2 locations it would help. Like Deer Park and maybe a central spot in Nassau County. Woodside and Port Jeff are kinda far for some fans.

I'm sure that NYWC is not trying to be like Ring Of Honor. There are other indies out there that post matches on their message boards before their main websites. If this board was never created, there would be no place for fans to discuss NYWC. I'll grant you there's a little over 100 members signed up to this board. I've noticed that little box that says active users in the past 24 hours, that there seems to be over 100 guests who view this board a day or two after every show. It is disappointing that fans are left hanging in terms of waiting long for matches to be announced for an upcoming show.

It is indeed disappointing that the fans are left hanging and seemingly waiting forever for matches to be announced on the main site. I notice that there's more people voting yes to having the matches announced on the board first. Chained is 3 days away and all that has been announced is 2 matches and Matt Striker appearing. To me that's not promoting well.

It appears that utfan4l has proved his point about the main site. We are 2 weeks away from the PJ show and it doesn't even mention that Wendell is facing Rodz. Also, the results haven't been updated in 2 months and the roster has yet to add pictures of Wendell, Violet, & Phat Pat.

It's a shame that fans are left hanging when the website still hasn't announced matches for some shows.

I'll bet WBAB would give them some cheap air time considering they are both LI companies. Even if just on the morning show with Roger & JP. That alone would give them a boost.
