Check out the full cast list at www.imdb.com/title/tt1125849/fullcredits and you'll see the names of some local indy favorites... Randy "Ram" Robinson (Mickey Rourke) is a professional wrestler from the 1980s who is forced to retire after a heart attack threatens to kill him the next time he wrestles. He takes a job at a deli, attempts to form a relationship with an aging stripper (Marisa Tomei) and does his best to reconcile with his estranged daughter (Evan Rachel Wood). However, he is drawn to the prospect of a rematch with his old wrestling nemesis the Ayatollah (Ernest Miller), even though the fight may cost him his life.

I was at JAPW in February where the match between Ron Killings(R-Truth) & Romeo Roselli was flimed. The crowd was really loud for the filming. I can't wait to see this movie.

I saw the movie last night, and my friends and I agreed that it was great. It's a movie that shows what you got to do to be in the wrestling business.

Is it showing anywhere on Long Island? The closest theater I've been able to find showing it is in Manhattan.

According to an article that was in wednesday's Newsday, the movie was opening today on Long Island. Maybe I'm overlooking one, but I checked every listing for Suffolk, Nassau, & Queens and I don't see it listed.. and the only times I was able to find online were for theatres in Manhattan. WTF???

Now that Mickey Rourke has won a Golden Globe for his role in the movie, maybe it will finally get opened in more theatres.. I found ONE theatre on Long Island where it will be opening this coming weekend.. in Kew Gardens. I guess those of us in Suffolk/Nassau will have to wait for the DVD to come out to see it LOL

Papadon Should win the Golden Globe If Jim Londos says it, then it must be true! But still, I will reserve comment on that thought until I've seen the movie.

FINALLY saw it last night. Needed more of Papadon on-screen LOL. But seriously, I really liked it, except for the ending. Does he win the match? Does he die in the ring? What happens with him & his lady friend? It almost seemed like there should have been another scene....
