As a "old-school" type when it comes to new tech,it seems to me that over last few years now that there's a LOT less forum traffic & more in cyberservices such as facebook & twitter. I ask you the fanbase: ARE message forums still equally valuable/relevant in the increasingly digital age??

While i understand how we're "conditioned" to jump on various revolving bandwagons in this country in the case of prowrestling fans it seems to hurt our cause. When JAP started their radioshow it complimented their message forum. When CHIKARA started adding social media links it complimented thier message forum.

One has to wonder that when the "next" new media option comes along to "replace" facebook & twitter will it mean message boards have a new chance to reinforce their status or just have another obstacle to struggle against? I for one would like to know from YOU the fanbase just what the advantages/differences are of FB & TT from say this forum in representing our sport?

Social media has helped and hurt indy wrestling. Case in point: You would see 2 guys beat the tar out of each other in the ring. A day or 2 later, there's a picture of them sharing a hot dog on FB or Twitter. It seems that this board has been dead for some time.

I see by that example it's a help and a hinderince. (like actors not "playing characters" in their outside life) So what can we do to inspire most of the members back to regular activity???

Uninvited,By "conditioned" i mean the overall & progressive influence of peer pressure/social media/corporate advertising to "convince" people to "accept" things that may or may not be facts. (example: wwe/tna representing the sport as opposed to non-televised brands that do) Roger,my point here is fans not knowing difference between real person/reality persona or wrestler/person. Reading everything about a star from a distance but never knowing their character from prolonged experience. My suggestion for starters would include more fans getting word out (like i've done through flyers/radio/clothing for past decade) or start by your own social media link. This way more of the general public (doesn't matter if it includes "non pro wrestling" fans) at least has the chance of discovering the sport & making an informed decision after.
