Welcome to another edition of the No Punches Pulled interview series. This time it is two time former NYWC tag team champion Bo Prichard.
RL: Were you a wrestling fan growing up? BP: I've been a huge fan since 1984, I'm showing my age. I started watching when Hulkamania took off and I was hooked. And even though Hogan was the man at the time, I weirdly loved the bad guys like Roddy Piper and Randy Savage. They are still my favorite.
RL: When did you decide to wrestle? BP: I wanted to be a wrestler always. But back in the mid-90's, there really wasn't many places around here to train, on top of anxiety issues, then real life got in the way...it took me a while to make that dream a reality, but I did it!
RL: How did you discover the NYWC academy? BP: Anthony Musumeci told me about it. Well he was Anthony Musumeci back then...now he's Bam Sullivan now.
RL: What were your initial impressions of Mikey Whipwreck? BP: I remember being genuinely nervous to meet him. I heard stories of his intimidation. Plus, here is a guy that did everything in his life that I only dreamed of. And it's not a thing where I was waiting on line for an autograph...I was stepping into his world. He ended up being an unbelievable and caring individual and took real interest in the Hounds Of Hatred. Mikey also saved me from my own head a time or two and he didn't have to. He is the absolute man.
RL: How tough was the training? BP: I compare it to boot camp. I man it's definitely has changed a bit from give years ago, but when we started, it wasn't very easy for me. I played football throughout high school so I know all about two and three a days, but when you didn't do it for like 13 years and then you put your body that kind of stress again, my body did not react the same. LOL
RL: How did Hounds Of Hatred come about? BP: I started training with Bam(I was a month behind him) and we were genuinely good friends outside of wrestling, so we wanted to try and tag together. Mike(aka Mouse) and Victoria(Bam's real life girlfriend) came in a month or so later and we clearly had an Addams Family look as is. Stockade had the vision pretty much right away, Shane shared in the vision, some face paint and torn up gear and the Hounds Of Hatred were born.

RL: What are your memories of match with The Big O? BP: It was nerve racking. We had practiced with Adam at training leading up to it so we felt pretty comfortable with him. However the one thing that I will never forget about it was when we came from under the ring(like we were crawling out from under out graves) with Nine Inch Nails blaring, the Sportatorium was silent....But not in a bad way. In an eerie way. It was House Of Madness and the place was packed, but people were genuinely speechless. We went into the back and Mikey was so happy with the reaction and how we did. I remember him showing us the palm of his hand and asking us "Do you hear that?! You got em...right fucking here." That was awesome.
RL: What are your memories of Bam Sullivan & Victoria Von Black? BP: We were friends outside of wrestling. So we were all we had going into it. In terms of wrestling with them as a team, it was the greatest time in my life. I love then both. No matter what disagreements we may have or had, I truly love the both of then. I hope to see Bam as NYWC champion one day.
RL: What are your memories of Mouse? BP: I remember when Mouse came in and they put him with what Bam and I were building, I admit...I didn't get it. But Mouse ended up being the most over part of out group lol. That little bastard earned his way. I respect the hell out of him.
RL: What are your memories of Apollyon? BP: Jeff was another intimidating dude. I don't feel small pretty much ever. I did when I was with Apollyon. But he is one of the nicest dudes in the world and I did his face paint for about two years so we bonded over that LOL.
RL: What are your memories of Stockade? BP: I have many, many memories, he and Blake Morris trained us. He took a liking to me early, but because of that, he also beat on me a little bit more than most. I was tester daily by him. There's been times that I wanted to hug him and there's been times I wanted to strangle him, sometimes at the dame time. LOL. We owe a lot to Joe. We do. We never achieve half of what we did without him.

RL: What are your memories of winning Psycho Circus match in 2016? BP: Thats our Wrestlemania, our Starcade. We were lucky to be a part of 3 Psycho Circus main events and so soon. The first one was incredibile, the build-up, the video package, the O-Team vs The Hounds...it was a great story. I was never so happy to have the shit beat out of me.
RL: What are your memories of Mike Verna & Talon? BP: True professionals. We were lucky to start with them. We learned a lot from Verna and Talon. Although Talon hated wrestling me because of my face-paint LOL. After our match, he's be slightly miffed that my paint was on his gear. I wanted to be respectful but I always thought it was funny how mad he got. At the American Legion Hall he kicked me so hard in the stomach I thought I pooped in the ring. True story. I didn't.
RL: What are your memories of winning the NYWC tag team title from Alvin Alvarez & J-Redd? BP: It was hot as hell in the building and we just had the best match of our career with Team Tremendous in my opinion earlier that night. I remember going out there when J-Redd said on the mic "We'll take on anyone anywhere for these belts." The crowd literally buzzed when we won the titles. It was truly a special night.
RL: How did you end up in Suffolk Wrestling Alliance? BP: I don't really remember how. I just remember that we ended up being there. We did a brief one of angle with Stockade vs Tommy Dreamer and then months later, we were there all the time. I will say that I always felt that we were not used correctly there though. We just weren't.
RL: What are your memories of your match with Johnny Molloy? BP: I hated it. LOL. Jerry is a good person but the match could have had me and so much more than just a stepping stone. We missed the mark.
RL: What are your memories of your match with Certified Sexy? BP: I really enjoyed that match. Anytime that you have two completely different dynamics going up against each other, it always makes a fun match. This was no exception. I enjoyed working with those guys.

RL: What are your memories of Anthony Cole's Brii Combination Wrestling? BP: I think we only wrestled there twice. He treated us well I will say that. Wish we could have worked together more.
RL: What are your memories of winning the Five Borough Wrestling tag team title? BP: I had a really bad foot injury and they were bringing the Hounds in to feud with The Crusade. I personally was so happy with that as it was a feud that I really wanted to be a part of. We did the match on a Sunday in front of a smaller crowd. Heel turn on TJ Marconi. We took the pin and the belts and it was incredibile. However, FBW ended up going with a renascence if you will and the idea was scrapped. With my injuries, I never even had the chance to defend it either. I always think of what could have been there. Hounds vs Crusade.
RL: What are your memories of matches with The Spirit Squad? BP: Oh God, here we are wrestling former WWE tag team champions...and twice! That waa awesome to say the least. Mikey & Kenny were the coolest dudes ever to boot. We had so much fun with them. Extremely nice guys who were willing to teach us while having a ball doing it. One of the best memories I have.
RL: What are your memories of losing the NYWC tag team title to Jesse Vane & Anthony LaCerra BP: Honestly could not pick two better guys to pass the titles to. We wrestled them so much that first year that when we were up against them, it was the most relaxed I'd be going to the building. Those are two of my closest friends as well. We had a lot of fun with them. Anthony is my main dude, we always have a ton of laughs when we get together.
RL: What are your memories of Tommy Dreamer? BP: Interesting guy. He was the first megastar that I worked with. I remember Stockade was trying to call his match with Tommy and there was a TV in the background. Stock goes over this spot that was sort of lenghty and asked Dreamer what he thought...Dreamer looks right past him and asks "Is that Ray Liotta over there on TV?" The look on Stockade's face was priceless. Lol.

RL: How did the Beer Belly Bandits come about? BP: After we did the character change, I had just come out of the hospital with congestive heart failure. I probably should not have been wrestling at all, which is why the Bo character did not actually wrestle for the first 3 shows that 'Bo Prichard' came in. When I did, we put the team together to almost hide the fact that I was taking it easy in the ring. The Beer Belly Bandits were just supposed to be JT and I at first, but Shane put General Romero in to put less stress on me. The jury is still out of it worked or not.
RL: What are your memories of JT Kasin? BP: I wrestled JT a lot as Boo so we already had a good background to work with. JT is a good ass dude. A man's man. He is the type of guy that anyone would want to watch the game and drink a beer with. Plus he is selfless. He knew my struggles and worked with me a lot. I owe a lot to him as well.
RL: What are your memories of General Romero/COTA? BP: Let me just say that COTA is the best gimmick for Georgie. He's entertaining as all hell in that role. As The General, we had a lot of creative differences in the Bandits so it wasn't always the best fit. He is a super good dude, it just wasn't a great fit.
RL: What are your memories of Spyder? BP: Spyder is a great guy and was the perfect Bandit in my opinion. He was a great fill in for Romero and is a very good worker. Thankfully for him, the Bandits don't ever have to wrestle naked as he makes all of our gear! I wish he was in the Bandits from the beginning because he adds such a good dynamic to our stable.
RL: What are your memories of being Boo Sullivan again at last year's Psycho Circus? BP: When it was pitched to me, I immediately got excited. I love the 'Boo' character as much as I do 'Bo'. So when I can flip flop and enjoy both worlds, it's awesome...however...that was a rough go at the Circus last year. I was in that dark ass box for over an hour, fans were banging on it, and there was a tremendous echo. Now don't get me wrong, the spot where I came out and did my spot with Mikey, Stockade, & Tremont looked good on camera...but there was so much that went wrong, that it still kills me inside. However, the crowd reacted well to it and we got a great pop so that's all that really matters.

RL: What are your memories of matches with Tinder Tom & Johnny Radke? BP: They are great kids and have bright futures in wrestling. They were out whipping boys for a while there but that's just how wrestling goes sometimes. One day they will have whipping boys that they will toss around. Now if they both would just eat a chesseburger and gain some weight already...
RL: How did you end up in Mike Morgan's ACE Pro Wrestling? BP: We actually debuted for ACE first. There's a trivia question. My debut match was with Bam vs Aiden Baal & Rad Brad Benson. It was all of our first match. Well actually I think Bam and Aiden wrestled one on one the month before, but we had a series of 3 months that we worked for ACE or ICE before we debuted at NYWC. I went back all those years later after Stockade and I came up were talking about the old Kurt Angle/Steve Austin best friend dynamic. It was pitched to Mike Morgan and he loved it. We had a very successful run with it.
RL: What are your memories of Cowboy James Storm? BP: I was jealous, this guy was the real life Bo Prichard lol. He was very friendly with Bull. So Bull, Stock, Shane, James, and I went to the bar after the show and I just listened to him speak and got some great pointers for my gimmick. He is a good guy.
RL: What are your memories of The Cortez Brothers? BP: I love these kids. We had a couple of small holes in our match but I truly enjoy being around Seth & Micah. Just two solid guys with an incredibile look. They are definitely the future of the company. In a weird way, they remind me of a prettier version of myself and Bam when we were starting out.
RL: Word Association-Curae BP: One liners and zingers, A-Rod bar
RL: Shane BP: Peter Pan
RL: Mikey Whipwreck BP: The Godfather
RL: Forge BP: Dad
RL: Willow Nightengale BP: Hearts with rainbows
RL: Papadon BP: The best in the world. BFF.
RL: Britney Savage BP: Punky Brewster
RL: Adam Payne BP: Kodiak Bear
RL: J-Redd & Iri$h BP: Grinders, talented
RL: Larry Legend BP: The best!
RL: Andy Miller BP: Elisa Distefano
RL: Jim Londos BP: Story time
RL: Robert Lotti BP: Dedicated!
RL: Jessica BP: Dancer
RL: What are your thoughts on those who fake post on message boards or create fake social media accounts? BP: Super Lame. Seriously.
RL: What are your thoughts on the NYWC message board? BP: Needs to be promoted!! Get the word out!!
BP: I would like to say Bull James is a good dude and his mind is always working. Bull has taught me so much about wrestling that I have benefitted so much from him. We wrestled on the outskirts of Philly for Rob Feinstein's Battleground Pro. He took us to a bar to have a beer with his friends in Philly. Little did I know that I would be taking shots with Bram and Magnus. On the way home, he kept me awake by pulling out little back hairs...It was awesome...LOL. I love spending time with Bull.
BP: Shane is the hardest working mind in the business. NYWC is his Neverland. He tries to accomodate so many personalities and never gets much credit. He also is the best person to do carpool karaoke with. Sometimes when we discuss different storylines or we have discussions, it is started with some amazing 80's music to try and stump each other. Without Shane, NYWC just isn't NYWC. He is about us. That is an amazing thing in todays wrestling world.
RL: Thank you for this wonderful interview.
