I was really looking forward to Mega/Rush and it was surprising to see it go on first. I'd like to see them have a rematch with more time. Burma/Michael had a good match. Syther/Francis vs. Az/Stockade did good and I hope to see more of Azrieal in NYWC. Rodz/Buck(who main evented the 1st NYWC show back in 2003) had an OK match. I hope Buck will be back in the new year. Storm/Bruno/Papadon was a hard hitting affair. I was let down when the time limit expired. During intermission, Stockade & Syther started brawling in the crowd. You read that right. They brawled in the crowd during intermission. Rednex/NFL part umpteen did good. I want Jethro in the ring more often. Mav/Kieran had a good match and I think Kieran could have a future as a solo star. Braggiol/Reynolds put on another good match. Kanyon/Morris had a fun match. Due to the ending, I'm wondering if Kanyon will get a partner to face Morris & Reed. Dan/Silver ended the show and I'm glad Dan won.
Results:
King Mega def. Ryan "The Adrenaline" Rush
Michael Mansfield def. "Big Time" Tony Burma
Stockade & Azrieal def. Francis Kipland Stevens & Syther
"Superstar" Dickie Rodz def. Pat Buck
Papadon vs. Bruno Marciano vs. Quiet Storm went to a time limit draw
Naturally Fly Latinos def. Dirty Rednex
Maverick def. Kieran Mansfield
Joey Braggiol def. Alex Reynolds
Chris Kanyon def. "Flawless" Blake Morris by DQ when "Hot Shot" Mike Reed interfered
Dan Eckos def. Big John Silver
Personal Notes
What did everybody think of my plan of passing flyers to people as they came in?
It was nice meeting some Facebook friends.
Whoever yells Pee Wee Herman at Dan Eckos, I don't think it's going to catch on with the rest of the crowd.
Thanl you scooterdust for driving me to the show.
It was great to have scooterdust, jdawg, & nyindyfan all sitting with me together for the 1st time ever I believe.
Some ghosts from NYWC's past were in attendance.
It was nice talking with jcurse, Jim Londos, & Crusher Doogan.
I passed out a good portion of my flyers out. Now let's see who will join this board.
NYWC had an awesome 2009. With Psycho Circus coming up, it's safe to say there will be NO CLOWNING AROUND on January 30.
