What an awesome show. I liked the battle royal and I'm shocked that Haystacks won it. Morris vs. Reed/Morris was good and what a surprise to see James Mitchell. Rodz/Az was a pretty good match. Syther/Stockade was a great match and it looks like the feud is not over. The iron man match was pretty awesome and I thought with all the decisions earned, it looked like they were going to score in double digits. Now what a a rocking good time the Psycho Circus match was. It was crazy and I was shocked at the computer keyboard exploding into the crowd.
Since thebullfather asked in another topic, here's the results:
Big Daddy Haystacks won the Joker's Wild Battle Royal
Mortis def. "Flawless" Blake Morris & "Hot Shot" Mike Reed in a handicap match
Dickie Rodz def. Azrieal
Stockade def. Syther after Crusher Doogan attacked Syther
Papadon def. Josh Daniels, Quiet Storm, & Bruno Marciano in the iron man match
Psycho Circus Match While all 10 participants were down on the floor, BD Haystacks climbed the ladder and as a result of winning the battle royal earlier in the show The Dirty Rednex are the new tag team champions. Big Time Rush & Celtic Saints eliminated
Alex Reynolds put Joey Braggiol through the table to retain the interstate title Reynolds & Braggiol eliminated
Dan Eckos made Big john Silver tap out while choking him with a noose
At the start of the show, King Mega destroyed the Jack In the box. As a result of that, the only way the heavyweight title could be won would be by pinning King Mega.
Maverick pinned King Mega with the 450 splash to win the heavyweight title.
Personal Notes It was nice meeting bpro10592.
It was nice meeting some Facebook friends.
As I told Curse & Jim Londos, Psycho Circus shows may have to be held at bigger places since it ended up standing room only for those who showed up too late.
I went to Shenannigan's after the show. They have some good food and I got to see some of the stars of NYWC and I noticed myowntigereyes there as well.
I passed flyers out to many fans as they were coming in the building.
I sure hope some of them join this board.
Awesome show once again and congradualtions to the new NYWC heavyweight champion Maverick.

I was a little disappointed with the Iron Man Match, for 2 reasons. One- there were only 2 tap-outs, which occured simultaneously, but a s**tload of pinfalls. I wanted to see guys tap out. Two- Why did they bother noting that a wrestler would lost a point for being counted out, when Forge never counted guys outside the ring?
So who exactly are the tag champs? Big Daddy Haystacks is usually an enforcer and not a wrestler. Do JT & Moore get the belts, or will it be an interchangable title where any 2 of the 4 Rednex can compete in a match defending the title?
I wonder if Joey Braggiol forgot the rule change when he put multiple competitors into the jack-in-the-box.
There were too many people in the building. Center Island Sports would have been a better venue for a big show like this, or maybe a local high school gymnasium. It was beyond a fire safety hazard with walkways and exits blocked, before the show started I heard someone near me say the fire department should be called in.
Papadon's overly dramatic TWO! is getting beyond annoying. I like the guy and think (yes, I though this before last night) that he is the best pure technical wrestler in NYWC, but that gimmick has to stop.
It would be nice if Mortis stayed around to tag with Syther.

Overall, it was a great show. I was just really pissed off i waited 50 minutes for good seats to just be blocked by kids standing in the front row. if you're in the front, y stand? i pretty much couldn't see half the ring on the last match until john silver got eliminated so i was really annoyed, luckily I'm taller than my friends so i could see more than them.
on a positive note, my friend got a free ticket from some older man in line b.c he had an extra ticket.
on a side note, they definitely need a bigger venue, it took me like 20 minutes to go from the 2nd row in the section closer to the door to get a hotdog. supposedly its always like that so idk why theyve been doing it for 7 years and didnt realized they need a bigger place.
on another side note, mortis's hair situation was pretty funny.
some other thoughts: i was kinda bummed silver didnt get the hi-fi but happy mega FINALLY lost his belt. as far as the dirtys getting the tag belts, i was disappointed. i wish the new wrestlers in the battle royal couldve shown their skills a little more, instead of walking around punching and throwing people. i realized daemon crowly was that camera guy, and was kinda pleased to see that for some reason, not sure y, just thought it was amusing to see an ex stage crew and referees in the battle royal. the master of the match was good, i just wish storm wouldve one. oh well, they all deserved to win, theyre pretty skilled wrestlers.
and, lastly, i was really waiting for someone to get a situation chant started for eckos lol. maybe next time.

A great show it was indeed. Now I noticed the back door was open during the show. I wonder if anyone snuck in without anyone knowing. Bpro does have a point about people standing if they're already in the front row. They should have stayed in their seats. Also, I noticed someone from Atlas Security in attendance. Perhaps they need to come back and have people sit down when others behind them can't see.

Okay. Where do I begin?
Some unforseen complications made us arrive at about 5:50, when I planned to be there before 5. It wasn't a big line, and we were incredibly lucky to get there when we did. More on that later.
The Joker's Wild Battle Royal defied any booking logic, but if you know the personal reasons behind it, then it will make sense. Trust me on this. What I'm hoping for is a temporary alliance between Big Time Rush & The Saints against The Rednex, which could really help the Rednex as heels.
Daemon Crowley has a look to him which could help him a great deal. I've heard he may work with Stockade @ Aftermath.
I really believed Jim Mitchell was going to bring out Bryan Clark (Wrath) to team with Mortis. This was a decent match, but I'd say this probably the worst match at the event. Again, it was decent, but certain things (like the wig issue) kept it from being above average. I'm glad it was placed early on, because if it had come later in the evening, it might have killed the flow of the event.
Dickie Rodz and Azraiel perform very well together. I thought a Van Leemer heel turn was coming, but where the hell is he anyway?
Doogan played us for chumps, and I liked it. Him choosing Stockade for the heel turn was great and somewhat unexpected. I'm really thinking it might be time for Syther to evolve into a new gimmick in order to take revenge on Stockage and Doogan.
The Masters Of The Mat match was a great example of technical wrestling. As soon as everyone went up to 6 points except Storm, I called Quiet Storm getting the dual tap. The only downside is that Forge didn't count for the outside. Papadon needs to placed in the main event as soon as possible. He's not getting any younger and he's the next logical choice for a championship program after a Mega rematch.
The Psycho Circus. What can be said that hasn't already? A slow start and then BOOM, Burma gets it going with the explody keyboard. I like that there wasn't so much blood, proving you don't need blood to sell a good hardcore match. I kind of figured Haystacks was going to cash in before the end of the evening. It made things different, and variety is always the spice of life.
As much as I wanted Silver to go over, it made sense to have the rest of Team Mega retain their belts, as it adds fuel to the fire for future programs. But Maverick.......
There are times when I know I won't be able to lose myself in the thrills of a wrestling match. With the WWE, it's a very rare occasion (the last two being Taker/HBK from WM 25 & Jericho/HBK from WM 19). Last night, I lost myself and suspended my disbelief. Screaming for Maverick, the man who had been chasing Mega for so many months, finally reaching the top of the mountain is always the most rewarding story in pro wrestling for the fans. Maverick has a long career ahead of him, and I hope that in the upcoming year, Maverick has numerous matches with many different opponents rather than another long program with Mega. A rematch would be awesome, but after that, let's see him up against everyone else. A thrilling conclusion to a thrilling evening.
On to the personal notes:
As much as I love the NYWC, Psycho Circus could have been ruined had one person decided to call the Fire Department and report the overcrowding. All someone had to do was yell fire, and it could have been a major problem. I understand wanting to profit from your biggest show of the year. I even understand letting people stand up. But it was just way too much for the venue, and a great evening might have been all for nothing if someone just made a single phone call.
The turnout was unbelievable, and there should be more space. Hopefully, this will start a trend.
The afterparty was great, even though I had little to no voice.
Forge is in love with my fiancee. Hehe. I'm really glad I was able share the Circus with my fiancee, and Jamie, Jay and Rob. I saw bpro and jones, but only managed to say hi to jones, because I couldn't get to bpro (literally).
I had annoying kids sitting in front of me. I hoped they would get plowed by an irish whip to the barricade.
The NYWC proved last night that they are not just a wrestling organization, but a family. They care about putting on a great show, and entertaining the fans. I'm very happy to be a part of it, and you guys should be too.
My podcast begins next month and I'm planning something big for the first one and that's all I'll tell you. I need to name it though. Any suggestions?

To answer Jones' questions, the Rednex may use the old Freebird rule. Meaning any 2 members could defend the tag belts at any time. As mentioned at the beginning, NYWC does need to have Pyscho Circus in a bigger venue from now on. But Jones, don't you remember November 2008? It was so cold in Center Island Sports. I wouldn't go to that place for a show in the winter time. Papadon is an awesome wrestler. The 2 gimmick has to stop? That helps him as a heel. I don't just yell 2 when he's having a match. I do it every time someone kicks out at 2. I attempted to start an NYWC chant twice during the show and it didn't catch on.

I recall the temperature issues with C.I.S, I was just thinking of it as a proper sized venue (assuming they could do something about the heat/cold). The show they did a couple years ago at William Floyd HS, that went off rather well, and that's why I also though high school gymnasium.
I, too, yell 2 at anybody (heel or face), But it's become too predictable with Papadon.

I hate to say this but I have to be honest, Im reading these reviews and it seems lately there are alot of complaints that to me just arent relevent. I wish wrestling fans would go back to enjoying the shows and being fans instead of dissecting every inch. I think thats what turned me off the message boards in the first place like the dirty doi message board and the japw board, now im seeing a few people doing reviews like they are authors on a website or like they are internet reporters. Wrestling is a dying sport and if it cant be watched and enjoyed then what chance is there against ufc or even strikeforce. I for one enjoy the NYWC product and dont see anything wrong with voicing whats not liked, but really read the last few reviews and guys are usuing wrestling terms that they have no business using. Just stating my opinion

Very good solid show. All the guys worked their asses off. I agree with too many people in the building. I took my nephew to the show. It was his first wrestling show and he couldn't see anything. He was constantly moving back and forth to try and see over adults that were standing up in the front.
The master of the mat was better than I expected. I'm not a big fan of Quiet Storm at all. His constant yelling and grunting is annoying. Maybe Grunting Storm is more appropriate. As far as Papadon. Good, solid wrestler. I think his gimmick needs revamping. What the hell is a Papadon and what does it have to do with being a Greek God?

Just stating my opinion So I am going to assume you are in the camp of people who believe that words and phrases that are deemed as insider terms have no businesss being on the lips of the fans? I can understand that. Do you believe, that we as wrestling fans should just shut up and enjoy ourselves? I am only speaking for myself here and no one else. Why do I not have the right to dissect a match? As someone who did it for his college career, I believe I have every right to pick apart matches. I try to show no bias, but that is where the fan in me gets out, which makes me enjoy the match much more. That is how I enjoy pro wrestling. And I don't think there is a damn thing wrong with that. I consider myself a smart fan, not the world's authority on how wrestling fans should present themselves. If you went to a play and an actor spent a good deal of time fiddling with their costume, wouldn't it bring you out of the illusion of theater for a moment? That's what certain spots and things do to fans. Sometimes it brings them out entirely, and others can go on enjoying what they watch even so. That opinion is hidden behind assumptions. How do you know we have no business using those terms? You make an assumption without understanding it from another perspective. To each their own, I suppose. It is just wrestling. How we enjoy it and look at it is up to us.

Its no different than listening to the groups of NFL commentators every sunday overscrutinizing the game. Do we really need 4-5 guys regurgitating the same crap? Do we really need them to tell us that if the offense keeps catching balls in the end zone that they will keep scoring points?
Since the internet, wrestling fans have become critics. Thats the way it is, i don't see it ever going back to us just enjoying guys exchanging arm drags and wristlocks.
