After missing When The Smoke Clears, I returned to NYWC. Spyder/Buck was an ok opener. I expected more out of Braggiol/Crowley and I didn't expect it to go on until later. Interstate title match was pretty good. AMIL/Reed & Forza was a fun match. Papadon took Silver to school in their match. Syther/Stockade 3 was great. It appears that Crusher Doogan may be building a group. Saints vs. Francis/Matias was a fun match. Bruno/Manny was ok but I'm not digging Manny's new found character. The unexpected hi-fi title match was good. Tag title match was getting good until Celtic Saints showed up. The heavyweight title was good.
Results:
Platinum Pat Buck def. Spyder
Daemon Crowley def. Joey Braggiol
Alex Reynolds def. Benny Martinez to retain interstate title
All Money Is Legal def. "Hot Shot" Mike Reed & Chris "Pain" Forza
Papadon def. Big John Silver
Syther def. Stockade
Celtic Saints def. Francis Kipland Stevens & Matias
Bruno Marciano def. Manny Martinez
Dan Eckos def. Quiet Storm & Tony Mamaluke to retain the hi-fi title
Big Time Rush vs. Dirty Rednex went to a double DQ when Celtic Saints interfered
Maverick def. Josh Daniels to retain heavyweight title
Personal Notes
Super Nova's flight was cancelled and he couldn't be at the show.
Did anyone notice that guy wearing a Yankees Baseball shirt who rooted for the heels?
As I told Jim Londos at intermission, the weather pretty much is the reason the crowd wasn't so big.
One kid sitting in front of me had a sign that read "Nywc Rules".
Boogalou of The Knuckle Dusters noticed me as I was heading back to my seat.
Alex Reynolds' entance=Bathroom Break
I will certainly think twice about going to a show in Long Island in the rain. Why you ask? I waited an hour at the train station and not one train showed up. Thank goodness for that Spanish gentlemen who waited 2(no Papdon jokes) hours and not one train showed up. His friend had a van and drove me home.
See you on March 27
