Welcome to another edition of the No Punches Pulled interview series. This time it's former NYWC tag team champion and Reckless & Wasted's own JT Kasin.
RL: Were you a wrestling fan growing up? JT: Big time fan, ever since I was 5-6 years old thanks mostly to my father. I even have an old picture of myself with Big John Studd. I was hooked, mostly watching WWF, with a little WCW as a kid. As I got older ECW got into the mix. Then getting into the business I started watching old WCCW and NWA. I'll watch just about anything nowadays.
RL: When did you decide "I'm going to be a wrestler"? JT: Well it was always in the back of my mind. I used to wrestle in "matches" with my brother on our tramboline. It just seemed like a far reach of a dream. I watched Tough Enough and figured if there was a chance it would be that but I was too young at the time. When I found out about NYWC and just independent wrestling in general, I just decided i'd give it a shot. You only live once they say.
RL: How did you discover the NYWC academy? JT: My friend actually found out about it on the internet(this is when the school was located in Hicksville). We decided. When we graduated we would join. I joined right after graduation , he did when he turned 18. I was the only one who stuck with it though(with a small hiatus) before going to the academy when they moved to Deer Park.
RL: What were your inital impressions of Mikey Whipwreck? JT: I was intimidated at first. Here is a guy I've watched many times on TV and now I'd get a chance to be trained by him. It was surreal. Didn'lt help matters you couldn't really get a judge on him at first. Mostly because he wanted to make sure the people who deserved to train were the ones there. If Mikey didn't like you, you didn't last long. I've seen many faces come and go over the years. As time went I understood what he was trying to do.
RL: How tough was training? JT: Toughest thing I've done in my life, and I've done all sorts of high school sports but nothing compared. It was all well worth it though.
RL: How did you come up with the name JT Tackleberry? JT: Tackleberry was a high school football nickname I got from one of the coaches who thought I reminded him of the Police Academy movie character. When I joined NYWC it was part of my email address and Curse started calling me it. It was just one of those nicknames that stuck so I figured what the hell.

RL: What are your memories of BS Xpress? JT: Those guys helped me big time starting out. Learned a whole lot and had a whole lot of fun times with those guys. Burma especially is someone who always tried to help me out with things. As for Mike aside from having some great times with him he was the one who convinced me to get my first tattoo while he was getting his new one. I just wish the BSX Fraternity worked out lol.
RL: What are your memories of being managed by Crusher Doogan? JT: Crusher is always able to lighten the mood and make me laugh. Aside from having a vast knowledge about the business. He is just a great person to be around and a great manager to boot.
RL: What are your memories of Mason Raige? JT: First one to really give me a receipt lol. Other than that instance he was very nice to me. Good in the ring for a big guy.
RL: What are your memories of Foxy Foxxy & Damien Dragon? JT: I loved their characters and they were both very nice although I wasn't close with them. Never got the chance to work with either.
RL: What are your memories of Javi-Air? JT: Great natural ability as a high flyer. His match with James Newblood against SAT was one of the craziest things I ever seen.
RL: What are your memories of Plazma? JT: Dude man, he is just such a crisp in ring worker. But he doesn't take himself to seriously which is part of his charm. A strange dude at times but has had me laughing to tears a lot. If only the WWE used his talent more.
RL: What are your memories of Angus Brothers? JT: Part of my graduating class at the school. Unfortunately bad decisions burned bridges for them in the long run, which is a shame because they both have talent.

RL: What are your memories of Dead Presidents? JT: Lots of busted lips haha. Both great guys. One of my favorite memories is coming out with Oscar dressed up in effort of imitating them(poorly I might add). It was at least a favorite moment until we got destoryed by chairs. Nothing but good things to say about both.
RL: What are your memories of teaming with Oscar? JT: Had a lot of fun with Oscar and I felt we were able to play off each other well. Unfortunately there wasn't much success with the team and it didn't last long. I think we could of done a lot more with it.
RL: What are your memories of Tara Charisma? JT: Tara was always super nice and I always got along with her. Unfortunately she kind of randomly dropped off the face of the Earth.
RL: What are your memories of Alex Moore? JT: The Perfect Dirty Redneck. Great on the microphone. He really was the one who made the Dirty Rednex characters as successful as it was. We had a lot of great moments as tag partners.
RL: What are your memories of Joe Etell aka Dirty Joe? JT: Great guy, with quite the strange sense of humor that most may not get. Luckily I do, or he might kill me.
RL: What are your memories of Dirty Vinny? JT: The original Redneck and Dirty South Playa. Got along well with him but he didn't last to much longer after I joined up with the Rednex.
RL: What are your memories of Dirty Jack? JT: Dirty Jack who? Jost kidding. He didn't exactly last to long in the group to really make a difference.
RL: What are your memories of Dirty Cherry? JT: She played the part well. Very nice backstage. Another one who just fell off the face of the earth. Hope all is well with her.
RL: What are your memories of Jethro? JT: Great dude and probably the most excited when we came out drinking beers and eating fried chicken that one show. Hopefully he comes back some day.
RL: What are your memories of Robert Franklin? JT: Another great dude. The ultimate bodyguard along with Jethro. Been around supporting NYWC for a long time. Always fun to be around.

RL: What are your memories of Nick Berk? JT: Had a few good matches with him including my first real singles match. It's a shame he didn't stick around.
RL: What are your memories of Bruno Marciano? JT: Great mat worker and I got along with him well. I miss him being around. He is way to hard on himself a lot.
RL: What are your memories of Benny Martinez? JT: Another guy I miss. Tons of potential and looked to really take things to the next level until he left. Hopefully he comes back to wrestling at some point.
RL: What are your memories of Blake Morris & Mike Reed? JT: Morris had tons of potential, it's a shame that personal issues kept him from really making a mark. As for Reed a solid worker, never got to work him though.
RL: What are your memories of Alex Reynolds? JT: Had some really funny drunken memories with him. Great guy and everyone has seen that he has made leaps and bounds s8ince he was popping his collar. One of the guys on the roster that should have a contract right now.

RL: What are your memories of John Silver? JT: His height should of kept him from making an impact but I guess no one told him that. Always full of energy and can make an crowd get up on their feet. He can go as far as he wants to.
RL: What are your memories of Vitko? JT: He is a great manager, great on the mic and also a great drinking partner. He has a natural charisma about him that makes him a natural for the wrestling business. Hopefully he makes a return one day.
RL: What are your memories of wrestling Papadon at Silent Battle? JT: Will always be my favorite match. Aside from being a really good match, it will also be my favorite since the show was put together in memory of my father who passed away from cancer months earlier. I will always appreciate NYWC for allowing me to pay a tribute in such a way and do it for a good cause as well.
RL: What are your memories of Dan Dynasty? JT: Dynasty Dan, the first guy who showed me some of the basics. Taught me a lot and was always willing to help me. Glad to see he has moved on to big things for himself even though we all miss him around here.
RL: What are your memories of Prince Nana? JT: Had a great triple threat match with him and Joey Braggiol/Appolyon which was my Dad's favorite. Great manager who has a great mind for the business and just for business in general.

RL: What are your memories of wrestling Joey Braggiol/Appolyon? JT: I've probably had more matches with him than anybody else and I've enjoyed every single one of them. He deserves to be NYWC champion. Why the WWE hasn't signed a big guy that can move in the ring like him baffles my mind.
RL: What are your memories of Francis Kipland Stevens? JT: At first look a guy who didn't look like he would make it, but he has proven everyone wrong and is one of the toughest guys I know. He is the perfect nerd because in reality he is one(not meant as disrespectful. He would agree with me). Alwasy respectful to me.
RL: What are your memories of Dickie Rodz? JT: One of myy good buddies, had a few good matches with him and he has been one of the most important parts of this company over the years. The first NYWC show I went to had him and Mike Mondo as the main event. It was awesome and was probably one of the driving forces of me deciding to join the school.
RL: What are your memories of Spyder? JT: Another great guy and he can do some amazing things for a guy his size. We've had some fun times over the years and hopefully they will continue as partners in Reckless & Wasted.
RL: What are your memories of Syther? JT: He has such a love for wrestling. I could talk to him about old school WWE for hours and I was his first real match at a student show. A true classic if you can find it lol.
RL: What are your memories of Stockade? JT: Another one in my graduating group. The only other one that is still around. A tough guy who has a great mind for ring psycology. Promos and everything one of the overall good workers in the company.

RL: What are your memories of Britney Savage? JT: Solid worker and very nice. I would like to see her back on a regular basis.
RL: What are your memories of All Money Is Legal? JT: Great tag team had some good matches with them.
RL: What are your memories of Jamie Van Lemer? JT: Nice guy, got along with him well because we had the same type of job for a while. Another one who just disappeared.
RL: What are your memories of Ryan "The Adrenaline" Rush? JT: Doughnuts...he will get it. Awesome dude and it's insane to see some of the things he is able to do. Hopefully his recovery is quick, NYWC is missing something without him around.
RL: What are your memories of Quiet Storm? JT: Amazing worker, it's just a shame(for us not him) that he is in Japan half the time.
RL: What are your memories of Eddie Guapo? JT: Great guy who is always looking out for me. Has given me great advice over the years and I thank him for it. Guy has a dedication to the wrestling business.
RL: What are your memories of Josh Daniels? JT: Intimidating guy at first, but once you realize he actually has a sense of humor that puts you at ease. Watch out for his chops though.
RL: What are your memories of "Platinum" Pat Buck? JT: Didn't get the best read on him at first but after a while I think we warmed up to each other a little bit.
RL: What are your memories of Rob & Dan Eckos? JT: Rob didn't really interact with much happy to see his success in TNA. As for Dan he is a great worker and a funny guy backstage.

RL: What are your memories of Azrieal? JT: Overall in the air an on the mat a good worker. Glad to see he is back with us. Fun guy just to hang around in general.
RL: What are your memories of matches with The Celtic Saints? JT: Wrestled a main event as tag team champions against the Saints with their hometown crowd adding a lot of emotion to it. Really couldn't beat that. Had a fun match. Shame we lost the belts though.
RL: What are your memories of Daemon Crowley? JT: Had a similar love for horror movies. Got along really well. Hopefully one day he will be able to come back.
RL: What are your memories of Chris Forza? JT: Had two good matches with him. Another one I'd like to see come back.
RL: What are your memories of Tony Mamaluke? JT: Another ECW guy I grew up watching. It was an honor to be able to work with him a few times.
RL: What are your memories of Royally Phat? JT: Kenny has come a long way since he first started. Lost a ton of weight and has really made the most of the opportunites he has gotten. Kenny & Pat really gel well as a team.
RL: What are your memories of Los Dejos? JT: Had one of my favorite tag matches with them. Just a couple of fun loving guys. Great in the ring, should be in TNA right now.

RL: How did Reckless & Wasted come about? JT: Well this was around when Jackass 3D was coming out, so we decided to create a team that combined the love of my drinkming beer and partying(I alos have great knowledge of beer having worked at a beer distributor and a few bars) and Alex Moore's crazy stunts he liked to do. Unfortunatley Alex had things in life were more of a priority and left. But I've tried to keep it alive with Forge, Spyder & Braydon Knight. Reckless & Wasted is just about having fun, partying and do8njg crazy shit.
RL: What are your memories of the 2011 Psycho Circus match? JT: It was an honor to be in the biggest match of the year for the company. As for the match itself it was a blast. Scary at times and put a true beating on my body. Fun overall experience that I'd love to do again. Friends still come up to me talking about it.
RL: What are your memories of teaming with Ref Forge against Order Of The Black? JT: It was fun teaming with Forge. He has been with me through thick and thin for the longest time and I was glad to be there for his moment.
RL: What are your memories of Braydon Knight? JT: Great potential. Turns out our families are very close and we had no idea until he started to train here. A welcomed part of Reckless & Wasted. He can definitely rock the wasted part.
RL: What are your memories of your match with Tony Nese in Port Jefferson? JT: Nese was able to bring out the best of me in that match. Had a blast, just wish it was in front of a bigger crowd. Nese needs to be on regular TV stat. He is being wasted sitting on TNA's bench.
RL: What are your memories of Style & Finesse? JT: Enjoyed working with them a few times over the last few months. They are a welcomed addition to the roster.
RL: Word Association-Mikey Whipwreck JT: Mentor
RL: Curse JT: Sheriff
RL: Crusher Doogan JT: Nice haircut.
RL: Ref Forge JT: Very close to me, almost like family.
RL: King Mega JT: Awesome dude.
RL: Rex Lawless JT: Box o Rocks
RL: Charlie Lowe JT: Great Manager
RL: Violet JT: Can party.
RL: Nikki Syx JT: Come a long wayy, improving every day.
RL: Victoria Longtin(NYWC photographer) JT: Midget
RL: NYWC fans JT: Awesome
RL: What do you think of people who fake post on message boards? JT: Some are amusing but overall it is pointless and lame.
RL: What are your thoughts on the NYWC message board? JT: I really like it, any way to give fans an outlet is awesome.
RL: Where do you see yourself in 5 years? JT: Hopefully doing something involving wrestling being successful. We shall see.
RL: Do you think NYWC should get a TV deal? JT: Hell yea, we put on a much better product than most.
RL: Compare wrestling at the NYWC sportatorium to other NYWC venues. JT: Nothing compares to the sportatorium. It just has the perfect atmosphere. We feel at home there. It's like our frat house.
RL: Is there anything you'd like to say to the fans? JT: Thanks for all the support to the NYWC & myself. LET'S GET WASTED!
